Automation Guide

Automation is the utilization of automatic facilities in a manufacturing procedure or other processes or facilities. When the automation is done, most of the machines and processes operated by little or no human manual control to perform work without the aid of people, but the need for human surveillance is still needed for the automation processes.

Types of Automation Applications

Automation or automatic working pattern are the utilization of various controlling systems for operating equipment such as processes in factories, machinery, switching on telephone networks, boilers and heat treating ovens, aircraft and other applications and vehicles, or steering and stabilization of ships with minimum or at least the reduced human power. Therefore, when automation is going, this technology means a process or procedure is conducted with the minimum human involvement, realizing better cost effective ratio by making redundant power resources for other tasks.

Applications of Automation

The automation’s applications are very wide and profound in the industry as well as in science and space exploration. For the usages on land, it covers applications ranging from a household thermostat controlling a boiler device for users, to a large industrial control system with tens of thousands of professional input measurements and output control signals within it. In control complexity, it can range from simple on and off control, to a multi variable high level algorithm that needs to be calculated precisely before its usages.

Industrial Usages in Mechanical Field: Turning

For the automation to be done on the turning machines and conventional CNC lathes, the usages of the robotic arms for the finished work pieces are very common and on the other hand, it can also be used on the feeding of the raw materials so that the bar feeding mechanism can be also considered an automation mechanism even if it is carried on by NC control or simple mechanism. With the help of the automation mechanism, the turning process can be improved in many phases such as turning, drilling with the help of live tools, and other processing.

Industrial Usages in Grinding

Grinding is also a sector that needs a lot of automated processes to be achieved on the production lines just like the turning processes does. In regard to the mechanical composition, the mechanical structures of surface grinders are composed of an abrasive wheel, a work piece holding device, and a reciprocating table. The coordination of these three can make them into one well coordinated working process that can replace traditional human grinding workers. During the grinding machining, the holding device holds the material in place while it is being machined.

The clamping mechanism of the work piece can be done via two methods: one is for the ferromagnetic pieces, which are held in place by a magnetic chuck, while for the non-ferromagnetic and nonmetallic pieces, they are held in place by either vacuum or mechanical means in order to avoid the scratches or even more serious damages to the work pieces. The clamping mechanism is crucial to the whole processing of automatic surface grinders, since only with the rigid positioning and clamping, can the work be achieved in ideal circumstances.

In the field of Consumable 3C

Industry today is changing rapidly. In the field of automation and 3C consumables and electrical appliances, manufacturers tend to buy machining centers with robotic arm accessories to achieve a wider range of applications. The machine tool is the most fundamental capital for the manufacturer, and it plays a vital role in determining the final output and quality. However, components such as bearings, robotic arms or other automation equipment still play an important but independent role in the accessories market and the relevant industrial fields. Originative innovative designs and new application cases will keep motivating the industry to make the best use of those components that accelerate up the working procedures of the Consumable 3C goods.

Moreover, the manufacturing of the 3C consumables takes the technology strength rather than mechanical engineering, so how and what to prepare for the automated electronic  manufacture is another advanced discussion that we need to do in the other articles for a more purposeful illustrations for industrial insiders to achieve the maximum benefits for the professional users in the manufacturing field.
