Small hydraulic cylinders

Just like the hydraulic cylinder, the small hydraulic cylinders are also utilized in several industrial equipment. The mechanism which powers the small hydraulic cylinders is the same as that of hydraulic cylinders.

There is no doubt that it can take months, sometimes years to build a house. It is also not a very easy task. People will need to gather all the materials they need to build that house. They will need stainless steels for the structure of the building, and the tiles for the decoration of the wall. In the end, they will also need to purchase all the furniture to put in the house. If building a house is not so easy, then building a skyscraper is even harder. It requires a vast area of the land to serve as the base for the skyscraper. Before the construction, the existing construction must be demolished. Then the excavator will start to dig the ground for the base. Humans have been greatly benefited by the excavator. Without the excavator, it is almost impossible to build any tall building. The excavators are powered by the hydraulic cylinder. One type of them is the main discussion today, the small hydraulic cylinders.

What Is a Hydraulic Cylinder?

Hydraulic cylinders are very essential mechanical components which can be found in so many different industries. The hydraulic cylinders are a type of mechanical actuator which is often used to give a unidirectional force through a unidirectional stroke. The hydraulic cylinder can be applied to many different industrial equipment, mostly in the construction equipment. There are several different types of the hydraulic cylinders. All of them are operated under the same basic principle. The process involves a piston that drives a rod through the pressurized fluid in order to create the unidirectional force.

How Does the Hydraulic Cylinder Work?

Following the above, all types of the hydraulic cylinders are performed under the same principle. The system of the hydraulic cylinders is powered by a device called the piston. The piston is designed to move the pressurized fluid. Then A pump will force the fluid to flow into the cylinder, and a piston will drive the rod in the back and forth direction. This way, the force can be generated and then be used to lift or push heavy loads.

What Is a Small Hydraulic Cylinder?

Now that we have learned what a hydraulic cylinder is, we can now talk about the small hydraulic cylinders. Just like the hydraulic cylinder, the small hydraulic cylinders are also utilized in several industrial equipment. The mechanism which powers the small hydraulic cylinders is the same as that of hydraulic cylinders. They both utilize the piston to drive the pressurized fluid. Then the pump will force the fluid to the cylinder and the force is generated. So what is the difference between the small hydraulic cylinders and the hydraulic cylinders? The answer is just as its name implies, the size. The small hydraulic cylinders are relatively smaller in size compared to the normal hydraulic cylinders. They are mostly used in light-duty applications in the industries.

Other Varieties of Hydraulic Cylinders

There are several types of hydraulic cylinders in the industries. Each of which has its own characteristics:

● Tie Rod Hydraulic Cylinder

Tie-rod cylinders are the type of hydraulic cylinder which is considered one of the most versatile and affordable. The tie rod hydraulic cylinder is equipped with two end caps which are joined to the cylinder with the threaded steel rods. This feature has made the further maintenance and inspection of the tie rod hydraulic cylinder very easy. The tie rod hydraulic cylinder can also be disassembled very easily.

● Welded Hydraulic Cylinder

Welded cylinders are the type of hydraulic cylinder which is well known for their compact design. The welded hydraulic cylinders are often utilized in the mobile applications. The welded hydraulic cylinder can also be utilized in the applications which come with the significant space constraints. There is a difference between the tie-rod cylinders and the welded hydraulic cylinders, which is that the welded cylinders have the end caps welded onto the barrel. This way, it created a durable, uncomplicated and economical design. However, the downside is that the welded hydraulic cylinders are a lot more difficult to disassemble for maintenance.

● Stainless Steel Cylinders

Stainless steel cylinders are the type of hydraulic cylinder which is very suitable for the food and beverage applications. The corrosion resistant ability of the stainless steel can help the stainless steel cylinders to resist the corrosion from the water or cleaning detergents. This way, the stainless steel cylinders will not degrade when facing the routine sanitation processes.
