What is industrial blower?

Why is the use of industrial blower important?

Types of industrial blowers

The industrial blowers are classified into two types. The classification is based on the direction of the airflow, including centrifugal blowers and axial blowers.

1. Centrifugal blowers

a. As the name shows, the main driving force comes from the centrifugal force. To generate that, the blowers apply a rotating disk with blades. When the blades are set at the right angle, the rotating disk starts to generate power to drive air/gas forward tangentially from the blade tips. As the air is compressed and sent to the ends of the blades, the speed of the driven air increases.
b. High pressure is generated as the fans are spinning. With the pressure, operations under extreme conditions become possible.
c. It applies direct drive, but not belt drive, of air, this makes the device significantly levitate the heavy duty of other machines since the efficiency is higher.
d. Since some blowers have to work in a confined space, this type of industrial blowers becomes a desirable option since it generates a substantial volume of air with very little vibration.
e. Some industrial devices that commonly apply centrifugal blowers: boiler fan, combustion blowers for furnace, rolling mill, dust collector, bag filter, suction blower, exhaust blower.
f. Since they are all explosion-proof, safety during use is secured.

2. Axial blowers

a. Axial blowers are also known as axial flow fans. If customers cannot find a desirable product, searching using the other name of axial blower to search may be a fine solution.
b. This type of blower applies axial forces to drive the air or gas. The device enables the movement of air, gas, or liquid by spinning a central hub with blades extending radially from its outer diameter.
c. The pressurizing mechanism is like the propeller. It pressurizes the air by the aerodynamic lift generated by the fan blades.
d. Without the need to run at high pressure, the blowers can generate high airflow. The advantage makes it more efficient in terms of energy use.
e. For customers, this type of industrial blower is relatively inexpensive. Also, the design of the device is compact and light.
f. Compared to centrifugal fans, axial fans have less rotating mass and are more compact.
g. They are mostly used for simple extraction applications, such as roof ventilation.
