Mechanical Wire Descaler Guide

Mechanical wire descalers are mechanical descaling methods that are used to clean the impurities, such as stains, inorganic pollutions, etc. The mechanical wire descalers’ working mechanism used wire drawing works to do the mechanical descaling, so that the rotational brushes installed on the mechanical wire descalers are several of them. Most of the brushes are at least six of them, while some are eight.

Mechanical Descaling and Pickling

The term mechanical descaling is similar to pickling, which is a treatment of metal surface that aims to remove the impurities on the existing wires, such as rusts, scales, contaminants, stains, etc. Metals such as copper, aluminum alloys, and other precious metals are easy to have such stuff, so mechanical descaling is a must for manufacturers to achieve a refined wire materials. For this type of mechanical descaling method, the term is called mechanical descaling by brushing, MDB, for most of the costs.

Wire Drawing and Wheeling

Besides the mechanical brushing mechanism, there is another wheeling method that can help to make use of the contaminants on the metal wires. The form is like pulley form, and the whole wire drawing mechanism is designed with many pulleys that are about four or eight, as the numbers are often in even numbers under normal conditions. There may be two or three compartments for this methodology. One is for the primary deformation of the wires, and the contaminants such as rusts are then peeling off during the first compartment. In the second compartment, there are two wheels in opposite position and as they rotate in relative positions, the wire is further cleaned. For the third compartment, the blending items are aim to blend all the materials fall into the hoppers without further raw natural blending needed.

During the processing, wire drawing is very critical and the tension control need to be well controlled, otherwise the wire drawing would break the wire materials, causing irreversible results. The motors for the wire drawing and other supportive accessories are coordinated under the well designed controlling system. The wire descalers are often installed and used before other following metal forming machines.

Mechanical Descaling and Metal Forming Machines

Metal forming of wire metals are common in many occasions for a very wide variety of industrial applications. Metal forming machine is one of the most commonly used forming machines in the industry. It is used by any manufacturers in the production of a variety of industrial objects as well as items used in daily basis. Regarding the industrial applications of the formed wires, many are applied to furniture, sports, consumer electronics, and household appliances. With the wire descaling process, the wire materials are thus well prepared as smooth without impurities. The size of the die determines the corresponding sizes of the press machines to be used.

To be precise, forming units such as hydraulic press has been classified into several categories, such as hydraulic deep drawing press, hydraulic try out press, just to name a few. If compared with other press machines such as try out press and ordinary production press, the mechanical force of hydraulic press machine would be much stronger because the primary task of this kind of machines is to make pressing on the work pieces no matter of its material essences. Moreover, since conventional press machines are responsible for real and massive production of products, the mechanical strength is not only confined to the forces, but also to many other specifications.

Descaling and Wire Forming

Wire and tube forming are belonging to metal forming, and wire forming machine is the forming machinery that forms metal wire materials through a wide variety of ways as well as methods and this is deeply involved with the metal descaling as well. One of the most cost effective ways among all the wiring forming is the entitled wire drawing method. Wire drawing, by definition, is a metalworking process used to reduce the cross section of a wire by pulling the wire through a single drawing die that will eventually forms the target wire appearance. With this method, the cost and consumption are much less than other methods and that’s why even today this way is widely accepted by people around the world. There are many applications for wire drawing, including electrical wiring, cables, tension-loaded structural components, springs, and stringed musical instruments and related stuff.
