Bridge Type Graphite Machining Centers Guide

In the field of machine tools, the CNC bridge type graphite machining center is a very common model and is a highly developed machine tool. It can process multiple graphite materials simultaneously. The bridge type graphite machining center was originally developed from a bridge type milling machine. Since its advent, the development of this particular type of CNC graphite machining center has made good progress in the industry.

Wider Range of Machining Capacity

In addition to turning, milling of CNC bridge type graphite machining center also covers a wide variety of operations, ranging from single tiny parts to heavy and large milling tasks. Similar to turning, milling is one of the most commonly used machining methods, which can provide close tolerances. It can be said that the research and development of milling methods are very popular in industry. This has the characteristics of high precision and high efficiency, and can make the work piece with a complex profile, which is difficult to achieve with traditional machine tools.

Regarding the Bridge Type Machining

As one of the classic but always useful types in the machining center series, the bridge type graphite machining center is a highly developed machine. It can handle many heavy-duty precision machining tasks on large and hard work pieces at the same time without transferring the processed work pieces to other milling centers during the machining process. At the very beginning of the slow development of the machine tool industry, a machine center was developed from a milling machine in the middle of the last century. Since then, this particular type of machine tool has developed well in the industry. The machine center is widely used in various industries, and has made great contributions to the world industry with its versatility. The milling process of the bridge type machining center is derived from the milling machine, just like ordinary milling machines and models.

Methods are Variant

Conventional lathes are relatively difficult to achieve the production and effective characteristics of bridge type machine, which are used to process workpieces with complex profiles. Based on this expectation, the following development and machine center concepts were gradually formed. The term "machining center" can be used to describe various CNC (computer numerical control) drilling and milling machines equipped with several key but sometimes optional accessories. These accessories are equipped with the body, such as a tool magazine, ATC system (automatic tool changer), power tool turret, CMM (coordinate measuring machine), multi-axis worktable, and many other corresponding tools.

Arrangement of Milling Directions

Today, just like lathes and milling machines, the inventory of machining centers can be roughly divided into two categories: vertical and horizontal, and there are other categories in the inventory of machining centers. It is similar to a lathe. The vertical machining center has its structure aligned in the vertical direction, and the work piece is processed by the cutting tool that moves vertically. In contrast, the main axis of the horizontal machining center is placed horizontally, and the machining is performed lying down. On the work table of the machining center, most machining centers have at least three axes on the machine base. However, many machining centers have a fourth axis or a fifth axis even through connected rotary table units, so that multi-axis machining can be performed. By designing two other axes on the rotary table, the x, y, and z axes can be moved to two new working dimensions, and enables possible cutting processes at multiple angles. It has the same structure as four plus one. All these mechanisms are under the control of the computer numerical control unit, so that the synchronized action fully meets the target requirements.

Onsite Operations

Similarly, in the case of on-site operation, if the size of the work piece is too large and exceeds the allowable size, the machining will cause the machine body to vibrate too much, which would reduce the accuracy of the machining center. For manufacturers and following production lines, this is unacceptable. The manufacturer may face this situation, so the manufacturer may add some other structural designs to the car body to make it more rigid during the milling process. The machining of work pieces in the machine center is usually not circular, but other complex profiles, because the former can be processed with higher productivity by a lathe with a power turret. The spindle speed rpm is a key parameter that determines the performance of the machining center. For gantry models, the rpm (revolutions per minute) standard is different, and there is no such universal ratio.

Advantages of Machines

Obviously, the CNC bridge type graphite machining center not only brings higher working speed, higher accuracy and greater flexibility for graphite machining, but most models can also process other materials, including steel and castings. They are high-precision and high-speed milling machines for specific materials. It is very suitable for manufacturing high-precision graphite electrodes for processing mobile phones, digital camera parts, IC molds, connectors and small molds for engineering plastics for consumer market purposes.
