Servo Feeder Guide

Servo feeders grab and transfer material quickly and precisely to a stamping press or automation operation. Modern machines are equipped with user-friendly features at no extra charge - quick-release handles for adjusting the roller guides, the exit bracket, and stock clamp bridge, the transitional mounting brackets, the positive pilot release and the roller release for material introduction with the pneumatic cylinder are just a few of our standard features.

The idea of servo feeders is to control the index location of the feed rolls using a closed-loop positioning drive, usually a servo motor. In response to a signal from the press, the servo-driven device initiates its movement. Only a finite minimum indexing time can be accomplished, which relies on the amount of energy it can deliver and the loads it encounters. As a consequence, with the speed of the press, the endpoint of the servo powered machine can differ. The quicker the servo feeder press works, the longer in a stroke the servo-driven device stops. In comparison to press-driven feeds that can run as quickly as the press and instrumentation, their peak speeds are only constrained by the available drive capacity.

Modern Servo Feeder Features

Traditional roller feeders use an AC motor with one input and two output shafts for the feed rolls. While these systems typically use "anti-backlash" gears, they still contribute to length inaccuracies. Besides, torsional deflection in drive shafts also contributes to inaccuracies in feeding, especially in large section applications where heavy loads are transferred. Modern servo roll feeders are designed with independent AC motors mounted directly on the feed rolls. This design eliminates gearbox knock and virtually eliminates the variations in length that result from yaw in traditional gearboxes as well as the torsion of drive shafts, even in applications that require very thin material.

Closed-loop control systems are used in conjunction with the new dual-drive design. The advanced control mechanism of servo feeders uses position feedback from the top and bottom rolls, as well as a separate wheel that follows to ensure unmatched part length accuracy. In addition to precise part lengths, this system can detect even the smallest roll of material speed difference to prevent roll marks and various other complications from roll slip. In addition to excellent length accuracy, modern servo roll feeders offer automatic intelligent roll measurements to ensure unparalleled squareness tolerances. Milling edge coils of different widths can be easily adapted thanks to the use of intelligent roller guides that maintain proper centering throughout the entire sheet feeding process. The pressure of the guides also adjusts automatically depending on the thickness of the processed material. This distinctive feature of servo feeders drastically reduces the risk of edge damage to the thin material and helps to prevent damage to the guide system when machining thick material.

Advantages of Servo Roll Feeders

NC Servo Feeder The precision is high, it is the first CNC system in the feeding device, PLC realization, high-precision servo motor control drum to achieve the stamping feed model, usually the feeding accuracy up to around 0.02mm, which is other far-range feeding equipment. Also, the scope of application is wider, NC servo feeder with independent motor drive, at the same time has mechanical relaxation and pneumatic relaxation in two directions, so that it is not limited by installation equipment, not only can be used with a punch but also with a blade, hydraulic press, suitable for different material thicknesses, the length has a no broader scope of application. Moreover, servo roll feeders are easy to use, a high degree of automation, lower labor consumption, extend the time of effective work.

Compared with the roll feeder before using the actual mold collocation to carry out dynamic inch testing machine, debugging good material width, thickness, feeding step after continuous stamping production, not only is the adjustment is cumbersome but also needs to be filled by professional and technical personnel. NC feeder does not have to consider so many factors at all, NC servo feeder using a 7-inch touch screen point control mode, feed step distance, feed speed and other parameters can be simple and quick to set, saving the season strongly.

Finally, multi-segment feeding is possible to meet the needs of specialized processing, in the case of using a multi-engineered progressive mold for stamping production, the feeding step distance is often not the same, at this time, the ordinary feeder can no longer be used and NC servo feeder equipped with the function multi-segment feeding can fully meet the needs of multi-station mold.
